Reach Out: Stop Discrimination

an exhibition with a significant anti-discrimination impact

On Tuesday 19th October 2004 the European 'Stop Discrimination' Bus visited Inverness - one of only two locations visited in the UK on a tour of 19 cities throughout Europe. The visit was co-ordinated by Highlands and Islands Equality Forum in conjunction with others, including Highland Council and UHI Millenium Institute. The bus was sited on Falcon Square in the centre of the City. Activities organised for the bus included an 'Encouragement Zone', Interactive Fun Sessions, Theatre and Consultations. Additionally Seminars and Workshops for Employers were held at the Royal Highland Hotel, and participating organisations involved in Equality and Diversity issues had stands on the High Street. Moray Firth Radio covered the event live between 1pm and 3pm with a broadcast from Falcon Square.

As part of this important international event, OurStory Scotland provided an exhibition for Reach Out Highland, who collected, publicised and set up the exhibition. This was an excellent collaboration with an important social policy impact.
